2010 Pumpkin Carving

It was very wet and rainy all morning on Saturday, so I thought that it would be a perfect time to carve our pumpkin. Especially since I am so bad at carving pumpkins and Justin was off that day. He does such a great job. I forget how artistic he is because he hardly draws anymore. Anyway, Emma told her daddy that she wanted her pumpkin to have a cross. She wanted a Jesus pumpkin. This is what Justin did...

Isn't it amazing??

Now theses are the pictures of the kids getting the pumpkin ready for Daddy. He said we had to clean it out and then he would help.

Growing like weeds

When did my babies become kids? I have not been feeling well today so I have just been watching movies with my kids and looking through baby books. I can't believe Emma will be in school next year!! I know she will love it but I am going to miss having her with me all the time. And Brettman! He does not look like a baby at all anymore! No, they are deffinately growing up and they are really turning into good kids. Very polite and really dont fight a lot with each other. They are best friends. Of course no kids are perfect, they do bother each other, but really they would rather play with each other than anybody else right now. I love to watch them. Brett adores Emma. He would do anything in the world for her, even though Emma doesn't quite feel the same way about him. She's really all about Emma. They remind me of my not so little cousins Kristin and Josh. That makes me so happy because I have loved watching those two grow up with each other. They are really close and always have been. Josh has always adored Kristin, even when she wasn't nice to him. Haha...I hope my kids will always have that kind of relationship. So I guess I just have to accept the fact that they are going to continue to get bigger and enjoy every minute. Im praying everyday for their future and their future spouses because I know in a blink of an eye, they will be there. I am just so thankful that God has so blessed me and Justin with letting us have these beautiful children in our lives to love and raise. He is so amazing to make such wonderful things. I can't wait to see what kind of lives they will live. What they will become and the kind of things they will like to do. Its exciting to think about and a lot to pray about.

Pumpkin Patch!!

I took my Pre-K class to the Pumpkin Patch and we had a blast. All of the kids got to take home a little pumpkin and decorate it with stickers. After school Brett was saying that he wanted a baby pumpkin too so I took my kiddos back out there for him to get his own pumpkin. I went on my second hay ride for the day and it was quite a bit longer than the one we did at school. We had lots of fun.

Last night Emma and I were learning her new verse for Cubbies and we were going through the lesson that goes with the verse. Part of the lesson was some review questions that you are supposed to go over with  them. She remembered everything until one question...

Me- Emma, what was Gabriels message to Mary?

Emma- Um...that she is not supposed to cut Jesus' hair.

Me- No that wasn't it but good try.

On a lighter note...

Emma does crack me up with her weird sense of humor. Today my cat was sitting on me and Emma said, "Mom , I think the cat might poop on you today." I just laughed and said " Why?" she said without smiling or laughing, " I like it. Its a joke. Its funny."

Brett helped his Daddy all morning work on Justins new 57 Chevy Suburban. Brett loves that car more than anything. I love to watch them work on it together. Justin loves that it makes Brett so happy.

Will we get to ever come home when we go to Heaven?

Emma has really taken Awana Cubbies very seriously this year and I am so proud of her. I think that she is going to be way more driven in what she does than me and Justin ever were. Because she is learning so much about Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven, she has startyed asking a lot of hard questions. The one she asks the most is " When I die and go to Heaven, will I get to ever come home?" Of course I start to talk to her about the Kingdom and that Jesus came to tell us that he was preparing for us a new home and that it will be more wonderful than we could ever imagine. She starts to get really excited and ask more about what and who will be there and then she asks when she will get to go. It is just really hard. I want to encourage her to be in love with Jesus and know that He loves her, but the thought of losing her or Brett just slaps me in the face when she talks about this. It can deffinately happen and I know that. I know several Moms who have had to send their babies to Heaven and I learn so much from their strength that I know they can only get from our Lord. I am so proud of my sweet girl and I love that she gets to know about Jesus and LOVES to talk about Him. This has just been a hard thing for me to talk through with her. And for some reason we talk about it EVERY night. After I talk to her  I just goto my room and pray and tell the Lord that my children are His children and I thank Him so much for letting me raise them. I will try hard to rase them up to follow and love Him and I hand them over to Him every night. Pretty hard stuff for my first blog :)
